The kick-off meeting took place in Welver-Dinker/Germany. We met the 2nd time in Gaziantep/Turkey and continued our work in several times in Gävle/Stockholm/Uppsala in Sweden. We had also meetings with the International Department of the Swedish Labour Market Agency in Stockholm, with the community and Labour Market Agency in Gävle, with the Labour Market Agency of Gaziantep and also with the abour Market Agency of Marburg. Under "results" you can continiously find comments, results and interim reports.

3. The project and its development

We started with our application with 17 partners from 13 countries. We planned a very challenging project with many products and work orders. Then the project was approved but only with 4 partners from 3 countries. It took 3 months, to reduce the program to the really important goals and products. At the same time, we found that some of the assumptions before the start of the project were not really consistent with our results in the visits and excursions.

Doubtless, our assumptions and preliminary work were not wrong, yet the Swedish approach goes much further than we knew it so far. That has not changed our goals, but it led to other priorities, the central question of the improvement of mental and physical mobility of job seekers and improving the preparation of employers continue to stand in the focus of our project work.

4. These are the results of the project:

a) The questionnaires have become the basis that new ideas and projects have emerged in the interviews with employment agencies and other authorities. The questionnaires were not applied in all projects in order to get opinions from those involved. But they served the initiation of discussions. They helped to raise employers' awareness, so that employees (eg migrants) get adequate jobs and working conditions. The questionnaires for the employees give an overview of the necessary requirements for the labor market integration. The development of the questionnaires on the one hand and the debate on the Swedish project on the other hand and the other good ideas from the projects visited resulted in the incorporation of the best-practice ideas directly into our work and so we had not to develop new check-lists as planned in the beginning of the project. <Refering on objectives 1 and 5 in D.3 of application>

b) Arbeit & Bildung (Germany) uses the Swedish approach (involvment of employers into the life-work-planning of clients) for a new project for young prisoners after their custody. The Swedish ideas were the blueprint for the project planning and have been adapted to German labour market conditions and laws. In the meantime the Federal Ministry of Labour Social Affaires eccepted the project idea because of its innovative approach. <Refering on objective 1 in D.3 of application>

c) Raising from the different ideas and discussions Hayatboru Ogrenme (Turkey) conducted a training project, which was initiated by the Turkish Employment Agency on the basis of the questionnaires developed in the M2U project. <Refering on objectives 1, 2, 4 in D.3 of application>

d) The project application JobS APP in 2015 in the ERASMUS+ programme is a common application of the partners of M2U and some additional partners we met during our meetings or who are coming from our professional networks. Project leader is INIBIA in cooperation with a private professional school. JobS APP has developed 4 ideas, 1 of them is the outcome from M2U:

Improving organisational power/cross-border cooperation between employers and youth organisations/professional schools <Refering on objective 2 in D.3 of application>

  • Motivation of enterprises / strengthening the “soft skills of enterprises” resp. “powerful workplace” (experiences from Work4You/Sweden (we met in Sweden, they work with young job seakers) and Arbeit und Bildung with prisoners)
  • Support systems in the field of transition from school to work life
  • Comparing different national experiences and raising integrated projects and holistic approaches
  • Job research and virtual classrooms goes mobile – empowering the disadvantaged students with up-to-date solutions which go beyond the actual limits of IT solutions

e) Hayatboyu Ögrenme (Turkey) prepared some surveys regarding unemployed people and developed some help kits for them on the website of the organization (upload and start in July 2015). This help kit is the result of the discussion in M2U and will be available on www.m2u.info and www.hayatboyuder.org up too 10 years after the project. <Refering on objective 2 in D.3 of application>
